To enable PL/I SQL query generation

  1. From Visual Studio, click Tools > Options; then expand Micro Focus COBOL and click OpenESQL Assistant.
  2. Under the General heading in the right pane, use the drop-down list to change the value of the Output language field from COBOL to PLI; then click OK.
  3. Close the Options dialog box.
Note: When you set the Output language to PLI, this automatically changes the Mode value to ODBC because PLI is only supported in native applications.
