To configure edit warnings

To turn edit warnings on or off as the default

From the Classic Data File Tools IDE, click Options > DataTools.
To configure warnings for the Data File Editor, click the Data File Editor tab.
To turn on the Delete and/or Update warning messages, check the appropriate box(es).
To turn off the Delete and/or Update warning messages, uncheck the appropriate box(es).
Click OK.

Important: Changes take effect the next time you open a data file. Therefore, new settings do not take effect for any currently open files.

To turn off edit warnings for the current editing session

When an edit warning prompt appears, check the Switch warning off box before responding to the prompt.
