To create a mainframe-based service interface

  1. In Solution Explorer, right-click a project; then click Add > New Item.
  2. Expand Installed > COBOL Items > Native > Mainframe Subsystem.
  3. In the center pane, click Service Interface.
  4. In the Name field, type a name for your service interface; then click Add.
  5. On the Service Interface dialog box, select a service interface type.
  6. From the Type of Source drop-down list, select CICS Screen, CICS Commarea, or IMS Screen; then click OK.
