The following applies to warm and cold starts of the
Enterprise Server IMS Database Control feature.

               - All database statuses are set to NOTOPEN when an enterprise server is first started and when a cold start is performed.

- When IMS Database Control is started via a warm restart, either by an automatic restart after the abnormal termination of
Database Control or by a normal startup, database statuses are restored.

- If a warm start is the result of Database Control termination and the databases have been left in an ambiguous state, they
are recovered by the Backward Recovery process.

- If a warm start is the result of Database Control termination and the databases are not recoverable, then they might be placed
                  in a stopped state.
